FRY BREAD
MADE BY RHIANNON
How to make
a single Batch of fry bread/family recipe.
You will need.
3 cups of warm water,
3 teaspoons of sugar,
1 capfull or 2 tablespoons of yeast,
3 cups of plain flour,
3 teaspoons of salt,
A Pan half full of Cooking oil,
First, add sugar to warm water then mix till dissolve, then sprinkle the yeast over the top.
Put aside to allow yeast to activate.
Next, mix the flour and salt in a large bowl and stir.
Then, add the yeast mixture into the flour mixture and stir together to make a dough.
Put the dough in a big bowl covered with a clean tea towel and put it in a warm place to rise, about twice the size of the bowl.
Last, once the dough has risen, sprinkle some flour on the bench top and roll out the dough.
Next, mix the flour and salt in a large bowl and stir.
Then, add the yeast mixture into the flour mixture and stir together to make a dough.
Put the dough in a big bowl covered with a clean tea towel and put it in a warm place to rise, about twice the size of the bowl.
Last, once the dough has risen sprinkle some flour on the bench top and roll out the dough
Cut dough into thick strips and then into squares or whatever shape you want them to be.
COOKING THE FRY BREAD First, heat your pan of oil,
Next, take a small piece of dough and put into the hot oil,
If the small piece of dough rises up the oil is at a good temperature to start cooking the rest of your dough.
Cook your dough till golden brown on both sides.
Once all of your fry bread is cooked enjoy your fry bread, good for any occasion.
